RAM - Random access memory RAM sometimes may be called as a WORKING MEMORY meaning the data stored is temporary.
FUNCTION:
In simple words if you download the Samsung members app it gets stored in your phones internal storage or SD card. When you run the app/program it gets shifted to RAM.
CHARACTERISTICS OF RAM:
1. MULTI-TASKING
In an android phone the RAM can read/write modify multiple apps at a time on Internal or SD card storage.So with a phone with great RAM can handle multiple Apps/programs. Even if the current app is minimised or closed the app/program runs in the background for some time so that if the app is opened again it will execute the app/program quickly.
2. FASTER
Faster response on an android phone depends upon the frequency number/ clock speed and the less latency of the RAM. Frequency number describe how much data can be handled each second i.e) RAM to access the data from the Storage. RAM is volatile meaning when the power is turn off temporary data will be erased.So RAM require continous supply of power.But the data on phone Internal or SD card will still be there even if switched off.
So before buying a phone also consider RAM as an important factor.
