I have no idea about how many people actually know about this one but sharing it here.
If your call is running in background after you recieve a call or call someone and move to some other application, then you can double tap on proximity sensor area to quickly move to the call screen.
It's not the proximity sensor. You can touch anywhere on the notification panel (which turns green when you minimize a call) and it will return to call screen.
