Merge calls problem on my Galaxy Note 10 plus

Hello, 

My galaxy Note 10 Plus does not give me the merge calls or conference call option on my phone when I want to make conference calls even though i am able to add calls. Any help?

What is the exact issue you are facing while merging calls

The merge calls or conference call symbol does not occur from the 3 dots at the right top corner for me to merge the calls.

Launch the phone app icon Phone app

Type in the number you would like to call then tap on Call icon

Once the first contact number has accepted your call, tap on Add call icon Add call

Add in the secondary number then tap on Call icon to start the call

Tap on merge call icon Merge to start the Conference Call

I don't get a merge icon on my phone when I follow these instructions. I have never had this facility on my phone. My son's Samsung which is 2 years older than mine has a call merge feature...
