Do you want your keyboard to be smart as you are? Well, Gboard is one of the simplest and stylish keyboards we have today. It offers some cool features like in-keyboard internet searching and on-the-fly language translation, quick search, quick translate, emoji packs, and many more features. Gboard comes with some handy and hidden time-saving shortcuts. And whether you're typically a tapper, a swiper, a two-thumb pecker, or anything in between, they can go a long way toward making your mobile typing experience more creative.

So in this thread, I’ll be presenting you the best of Gboard by showing its incredible features and the plethora of customization options. Once you know all these tips and tricks, you will begin to enjoy the Gboard. So without any more ado

 Let’s get started...

Quick capitalization of a specific letter:

Whenever you're typing out an acronym or just feeling extremely shouty, there are bound to be times when you want to capitalize a letter beyond the first character of a sentence.

Gboard has a hidden shortcut that makes that easy to do:

Touch your finger to the caps-lock key (i.e - the up-facing arrow to the left of the "T") - and instead of letting go, keep your finger down and swipe over to whatever letter you want. That letter will come through capitalized, and the keyboard will then automatically switch back to lowercase when you let go.

 Use text editing mode:
If you ever tried to edit the text in Android, especially if that text is very long, you should know it is not an easy task. Gboard offers a text editing mode to solve this very problem. Whenever you need to use the text editing mode, just tap on the 3dot menu in the suggestion bar, and chose to Text Editing  icon. In this mode, you can easily traverse between words or sentences using the arrow keys. Use the one-handed mode: If you using a big-screen smartphone, which is usually common nowadays, you may have a difficulty while typing by using one hand. In such a case, you can enable the one-handed mode of Gboard. In this mode, the keyboard is less in width and is aligned towards the left or the right of the screen per your choice. Go to suggestion bar - tap on the 3dot menu - and chose  “One-handed mode".

 Enable the number row:

If you find yourself keying in numbers quite often, it is better to enable and use the number row to speed up your typing. You can enable it by pressing Preferences in Gboard’s Settings and toggling on “Number row“.

 Type in your handwriting:

Gboard also supports a handwriting recognition feature that allows you to hand-write using your fingers. However, I find it slower than typing using the qwerty keyboard, yet it is an amazing activity when you wish to try a different thing.

You can enable the handwriting keyboard by going to the Gboard’s Settings  Languages  “English (US)” (or any other language) and selecting the “Handwriting” layout. Then, you can switch to it by long-pressing the 'space" key.

 Change the Gboard’s height:

In case you are not comfortable with the keyboard’s height, which you may find too long if you have enabled word suggestions or voice input key; then you can adjust the board’s height to make it bigger or shorter. Just head on to Gboard’s Settings - Preferences and click “Keyboard height” and fix the size as you want.

 GIF & Emoji Search:

GIF and emojis never fail to add a fun factor in any chat. But if only one could send them from the keyboard, right? Well, Gboard has you covered in that aspect. You can search for the right emoji or GIF, instead of scrolling through the pages
