While the One UI 8 (Android 16) update for the
Galaxy Tab A9+ generally improves performance, some users have reported specific bugs
  • System Stability: Some users have reported occasional system crashes after disconnecting the charger, requiring a forced restart to turn the screen back on.

  • Battery Drain: Similar to other Galaxy devices, some
Tab A9+ users experience increased battery drain immediately after updating. Samsung notes this is often temporary as the system reoptimizes apps and background processes.

  • Screen Capture Bugs: Some reports indicate that screen recording and screenshots are bugged, causing the screen to blink and leading to "System is unresponsive" dialogs.

  • HDMI/External Display Issues: There are reports of issues when connecting to external displays via HDMI, where the device defaults to a "crappy" DeX view instead of standard mirroring, disrupting video playback.
Recommended Fixes
If you experience lag or high battery consumption after the update

  1. Wait for Optimization: Performance and battery life typically stabilize after 2–3 days of regular use as the system completes background optimizations.
  2. App Updates: Check for updates in both the Google Play Store and Galaxy Store to ensure all system-level apps are compatible with One UI 8.
