“I can’t find my phone!”

…If you have a friend or two, you’re sure to have heard this a couple million times. Odds are, you’ve probably said it yourself – we all have! And that’s precisely why you should read this post and use the "Offline Finding" feature in your Galaxy smartphone.

What is "Offline Finding"?

With “Offline Finding” feature, you will be able to locate your lost device if it disconnects from network for more than 30 minutes.  This new feature is a part of “Find My Mobile” app on your Galaxy phone (See steps given below to enable “Offline Finding”). What’s more? With the SmartThings app, you can locate your other Galaxy devices (phones, tablets, buds and watches) through SmartThings Find.

Why should you enable it?

You will be able to locate your "Offline device" (device that is disconnected from network for more than 30 minutes) with the help of other nearby Samsung devices, which have also enabled “Offline Finding”. But this is not all. By enabling this feature, your device will also help others find their lost devices around you by using your device's location.

Will your private information be visible to others?

No information about you will be visible to others, nor will others’ information be visible to you. Your device, together with other enabled devices will simply create a network, to work together and locate the lost device.

How can you enable it?

Follow these simple steps to enable "Offline Finding" in your device.

(Please note that you will need to update the ‘Find My Mobile’ app on your device in Galaxy Store for this feature to be available.)
