Instagram filters.
I'm pretty sure you all know what filters are. They can be found on my different apps and photo editing software.
So what is a filter and what does it do?
Filters are premade colour and exposure settings that can directly be applied onto the picture. It overlaps the preexisting colour information.
Filters make photos fun, add some oomph and make it look better in some cases.
But should you always rely on using filters?
I personally very rarely use them. I rely on editing my pictures on a good photo editing app, like Lightroom or Snapseed. I have better control over settings for exposure, contrast and other intricate settings.
Sometimes, filters may even ruin your photo. This can happen if the filter is adding far too much of contrast or maybe even overexposing your shot.
