An exciting reward awaits at the end of this passage. Answer the question below and be a lucky winner!

Samsung's Expert RAW camera app is everything you need to be a pro photographer. The Expert Raw App, launched in November last year, lets users benefit from the smartphone's primary, ultra-wide, telephoto lenses in Professional mode. Expert Raw users can fully control camera settings such as exposure, focus, ISO, shutter speed, and white balance.

Before understanding each of these features mentioned above and how they can help you become a pro photographer, let us understand the idea of a raw image and how it can bring magic to your pictures.

A Raw image or RAW file generally contains uncompressed and unprocessed image data, allowing photographers to capture every detail they see in their viewfinder. The RAW file format stores the most significant detail in the image, which photographers can edit, compress and convert into other formats. Now, let's look into other technical terms you should know.

ISO - ISO is your camera's sensitivity to light as it pertains to the digital sensor. A more downward ISO value means less sensitivity to light, while a more elevated ISO means more sensitivity.

Shutter Speed - The speed at which the shutter of the camera closes. A fast shutter speed creates a shorter exposure — the amount of light the camera takes in — and a slow shutter speed gives the photographer a more prolonged exposure.

White Balance - White balance in photography is correcting for the color hue of available lights so that color tones and white look accurate without any color cast.

EV - Exposure Value (EV) is simply a way to combine shutter speed and aperture to a single value.

Focus - Focusing a camera is about changing the distance between the image's subject, lens, and sensor. The photographer can do this by modifying the camera settings or moving closer or further away from the subject.

Beyond these excellent features, Images are saved in their lossless JPEG versions or 16-bit linear DNG RAW formats. Expert RAW also supports HDR, and one can even instantly open DNG RAW files in Adobe Lightroom through a dedicated button on the image viewer screen. With the availability of Lightroom, it's easier for a photographer to edit & publish their pictures in moments.

Currently, Expert Raw is available as a separate downloadable app through Galaxy Store. The app is available to download on all S22 Devices, S21 Ultra and Z fold3, but our Expert Raw team has been working hard to make it available on many more devices.

Additionally, we are happy to confirm that two more features for the Expert RAW camera app will be available for the users with the next update. First is the Custom Preset feature, which will let users save their custom camera settings and use them to retake pictures. Second is the Save Format menu, allowing users to save the shots captured through the Expert RAW app in RAW or JPEG format.

How is ExpertRAW app better than using Raw export in Pro mode of the stock camera app?
In both cases all focal lengths can be used with pro controls while exporting both jpeg and dng.
