A sure and secure way to move your content to your Galaxy

When making the switch to a Galaxy, you don't have to say goodbye to your old stuff. The content you were using before - your photos, settings and call history - get to stay with you on your new Galaxy2 .

 

Data transfers quickly and easily from your old device to a new Galaxy, represented by a pair of scooters zooming from left to right, one framed by the simulated bezels of an old device and another framed by the shape of a new Galaxy device. Between the two vehicles is a blurred motion effect, indicating speediness.

Happiness is an easy transfer


Slip into a brand new Galaxy and bring what you've collected along the way. Keep all your photos, calendar dates, alarms and even call history1,2 . We made switching as easy as possible so you can dive right in.

The Smart Switch interface is simulated on a Galaxy device. Various categories of content can be selected or unselected for transfer. Listed on screen are Calls and contacts, Messages, Apps, Home screen, Settings, Images, and Videos.

Smart Switch gets along with your old device


Moving to a Galaxy from another OS isn't hard with Smart Switch. The app works with many devices, making the upgrade to Galaxy a seamless process for everyone1 .

On the left, an illustration of a smartphone shows the loading symbol. Arrows directed toward the new Galaxy device on the right indicate that data is being transferred. The interface of the Galaxy device shows Smart Switch copying data from the old device, with progress indicated in percentage and minutes remaining.

HOW-TOS

Step 1 : Connect.

Use a wireless connection or USB cable to link your device to wherever your old data is stored.

 The “get connected” portion of the Smart Switch interface is simulated on a Galaxy device. An on-screen illustration shows two devices connected by a USB with instructions written below. To the right of the device is a magnified illustration of a USB cord connecting via a 3.5mm to USB-C dongle adapter.
