Users who are considering the premium flagships for purchase - you should know that the premium you are paying is primarily for the camera system only!

From a performance point of view, a 50k phone is just as good as a 1 lakh phone. You'll not notice any difference in gaming either.

A 20k phone is atleast 90% as good as a 50k phone as far as performance is concerned, except gaming.

So, unless several aspects of a camera, like portrait mode, zoom capabilities, night mode, Pro mode and other types of camera features are extremely important to you, there is no point in buying the most premium flagships of any brand.

The camera effectively is what constitutes the entire premium over 50k for any phone!

So if you buy a 80k phone, the entire 30k is for camera. If you buy a 1.1 lakh phone, the break up is 50k is for phone, and 60k is for camera (including image processing).

If you look at the flagships from other brands like OnePlus 10 Pro, Xiaomi 12 Pro/ Ultra, etc., you'll notice that except for the camera, pretty much all hardware are identical. CPU, GPU, Display, Battery (Life), Dual Sim support, eSim, IP68 certification, etc.

It is not just about comparing models within a brand. This post is about all the models available in the market. If I need a phone that gives great experience in gaming (which is very demanding on CPU, GPU, battery, heating, etc.), and Camera is not the most important requirement, I should be getting phones in the 50k range because they are just as good as those that sell north of 100k, as far as gaming and performance is concerned.

Camera and Gaming performance are the two most important determinants of premium charged on phones. Barring the camera, phones above 50k are all pretty much the same. Likewise, if both Camera and Gaming are excluded, a 20k phone is good enough for everything else.
