Samsung announced the world's first 108MP camera sensor dubbed as the ISOCELL Bright HMX. This sensor has been developed through Samsung and Xiaomi's collaboration, and it's capable of capturing 0.8µm pixels and take in light through a 1/1.33-inch (9.6 x 7.2mm) opening. Additionally, the sensor is capable of squeezing these 108 million pixels into 27 million pixels through Samsung's Tetracell technology. This allows the ISOCELL Bright HMX to produce brighter images.
The sensor will make it on Xiaomi's Mi CC9 Pro when the device is launched in China. Xiaomi's upcoming smartphone has five camera sensors on its back, and the CC9 Pro will demonstrate whether Samsung's ambitious 108MP camera sensor is ready for the market.
