Tech ExpertSamsung continues to publish apps and services that are helpful to its smartphones and tablets. As part of its Good Lock ecosystem of custom apps, the company has now launched a new app, Dropship, for transferring files from one device to another. It works with other Android phones, including iPhones.
The South Korean company has announced the Dropship module for Good Lock in South Korea. It makes it easy and fast to share files between Galaxy phones and tablets, other Android phones and tablets, iPhones, iPads, and even the web. It uses the Internet connection to transfer files through devices, therefore it is not as fast as Nearby Share or Quick Share, which use Bluetooth and Wi-Fi for file transfers.
Once you install the app, it allows you to select the files you wish to share, then it creates a link and QR code. You can even set a validity period for these files to be available. Some of the limitations of this app include limited availability (only for South Korea from now on) and a 5GB daily file transfer limit. You also need a Samsung account to send files, but the person receiving the files does not need a Samsung account.
Another limitation seems to be the requirement of Android 13 (One UI 5.0) to use the app. In addition, Good Lock is unavailable in many countries and for cheap phones. Although the app sounds helpful, there are many limitations.
