These are technically part of the Samsung Text-to-Speech (TTS) engine, which is why they behave differently than regular apps.
Here is how you can remove them and stop them from auto-updating.
1. Remove via TTS Settings
Instead of the main Apps menu, you need to go into the specific settings for the Speech engine:
Open Settings and go to General Management.
Tap on Language and input (or just Text-to-speech).
Look for Preferred engine and tap the Settings icon (gear) next to "Samsung Text-to-speech engine".
Tap on Install voice data.
You will see a list of downloaded languages.
Tap the Remove/Trash icon next to the ones you want to delete.
2. Stop the Galaxy Store Auto-Updates
Since you mentioned they start downloading again when you hit "Auto update," you need to tell the Galaxy Store to ignore them:
Open the Galaxy Store.
Tap Menu (three lines) and then the Settings gear.
Set Auto update apps to "Never" (temporary) or "Using Wi-Fi only."
The Critical Step:
Go back to your Galaxy Store Update list.
If you see the language packs there, long-press on them or look for a "Hide" or "Ignore" option if available.
3. Clear Samsung TTS Data
If they still persist in your update list, try resetting the TTS app itself:
Go to Settings > Apps.
Tap the Filter/Sort icon and toggle on Show system apps.
Search for Samsung Text-to-Speech.
Tap Storage and select Clear Data.
This often clears the "pending update" queue for those specific voice packs.
Why is this happening?
Samsung often bundles these as "core system resources." If you have a specific Samsung feature active (like Bixby or Live Translate) that thinks it might need those languages, it will trigger a download.
