Tech ExpertApp Archiving will let you free up space by temporarily removing unused apps. When an app is archived, its software, permissions, temporary files, and notifications are cleared, but the app icon and data remain intact.
When needed, you can easily restore the app without losing your personal settings or progress. Considering you have downloaded a big game but haven’t played it in months, you can archive it to save storage while keeping your saved game progress safe.

Tech ExpertIt delete's all app data except core details required to maintain your details, as you will reinstall it downloads the app and you can use it as you did before without logging in . It's an underrated feature, I tried it in my pixel 7 and seems to be really useful when you have apps which you don't use much but is required.
