Samsung announced its new software support policy in the beginning of this year around February. It promised 4 years software updates and 5 years security updates for selected devices where it mentioned about all the upcoming S series Tablets. The tab S6 LITE 2022 comes only after the announcement like around June.
So will Samsung cover this in its new policy or not?
In the budget segment tablets for studies, li'l bit of official work like excel and some entertainment will you advise to go for S6 Lite 2022?
I asked the same question to a Samsung webstore UK's live chat agent a couple of days ago on 19th Dec 22, and he was clueless about it (he didn't even seems to know there's a 2022 refresh/version of the Tab S6 Lite) and I had to offer the press release link to Samsung's latest android update policy dated from 10th Feb 22. Afterwards linking the press release, he flip-flopped between Android 13 being the last OS update by counting from the original S6 Lite (2020 model) and the typical canned response for not knowing of:
"Hi Che for now what I can assure you is that our Tab S6 lite 2022 will still be able to received an update however this will still be based on our developers about when are they going to release one and still we are not closing the updates for these devices. Thank you."
Would be great if T1 support staffs (of any company) would be more willing escalate a question upward to more senior members when they don't know instead of giving a canned response and hoping the customer (who have already ponied up the money for the tablet) goes away.
