Samsung today launched Galaxy Tab Active 2 with military-grade rugged tabelt in India, priced at Rs 50,990 in India.
The Active 2 comes with a 8-inch TFT LCD with a resolution of 1280x800 pixels, and is powered by the older Exynos 7870 octa-core SoC clocked at 1.6 Ghz. It comes with up to 3GB RAM and 16GB storage with a microSD card slot for expansion.
In terms of durability, the tablet has MIL-STD-810G and IP68 certification, which should protect it against vibrations, shocks, rain, dust, extreme temperatures. It can remain 1.5 m under water for up to 30 minutes.
The Tab Active 2 comes with a 4,450 mAh replaceable battery, a rugged version of the company's S-Pen, and support for Samsung's Knox platform for enterprise security. It also comes with NFC support and has an array of sensors including accelerometer, light proximity, gyroscope, geomagnetic, fingerprint and facial recognition hardware.
