You're not alone! After the update, some users have reported issues with apps not switching to full screen. Try going to Settings > Display > Full-Screen Apps and manually enabling full-screen mode for specific apps. If that doesn’t work, restarting your device or clearing the app cache might help. You can also try using bubble letters for app names in custom launchers while waiting for a fix. Hopefully, a future update will resolve this!

Ugh, the full-screen struggle is real after updates—it’s like the OS suddenly forgets how to OS. 😩 I had this exact meltdown last week when my go-to apps suddenly decided to live in windowed purgatory. Here’s what finally worked for me after trying everything short of chanting at my phone:

  1. The ‘Nuclear Option’:

    • Go to Settings > Apps > [Problem App] > Force Stop

    • Then Storage > Clear Cache (not just data!)

    • Restart twice—first time didn’t cut it for me.

  2. Hidden Developer Trick:

    • Enable Developer Options (tap Build Number 7 times)

    • Toggle “Disable HW Overlays” ON → restart → OFF after testing.

    • Warning: Makes some games stutter, but fixed my Netflix full-screen blackouts.

  3. Launcher Band-Aid:

    • If you’re using Nova/Lawnchair, set app icons to “Force Full Screen” in widget settings. Looks janky but works in a pinch!

Pro Tip: If you’re logging how much time this wastes (I burned 2 hours before caving and eating ice cream),  calculadoradeehoras.com/ helps decide when to just factory reset and mourn your lost settings.

Anyone else notice this only happens with certain apps? For me, YouTube and Instagram are the usual suspects—like they’re rebelling against screen real estate
