SuggestionsDear Samsung Team,
I want to strongly request a built-in App Lock feature in Samsung phones through One UI.
This is one of the most important privacy features that many users genuinely need in daily life. A smartphone is a personal device, and users should have a simple, smooth, and official way to lock individual apps like Gallery, WhatsApp, Messages, Instagram, Photos, Banking apps, and other private applications.
Yes, Samsung currently provides Secure Folder, but respectfully, it is not the same as a normal App Lock feature.
Why Secure Folder is not enough:
- It is not as quick and smooth as simply locking an app directly.
- It often requires duplicating apps or using them in a separate environment.
- Many users just want to lock the original app itself, not move or clone it.
- For everyday use, Secure Folder feels like an extra process, not a simple privacy solution.
Why Native App Lock is necessary:
- It gives users instant privacy.
- It protects apps from family, friends, or others casually using the phone.
- It is a basic but very valuable smartphone feature.
- Many other Android phones already offer this natively.
- Samsung is a premium brand, and One UI should include this essential privacy option.
What users want:
Please add an official App Lock option in Settings > Security and Privacy, where users can:
- Lock any selected app
- Unlock using Fingerprint / Face / PIN / Pattern
- Keep apps protected without needing Secure Folder
- Use it in a simple and seamless One UI way
I strongly believe this is an underrated but major customer demand.
Many Samsung users want this feature, but they may not always express it clearly. I am writing this on behalf of many users who care about privacy, convenience, and a better user experience.
Please consider adding this feature in a future One UI update.
Thank you.
