SuggestionsRequest:
Currently, the Camera app only provides three flash modes: Off, On, Auto. However, there is no option for keeping the flash always on during preview and capture.
Why this matters:
With “Flash On,” the LED only fires at the moment of capture. This creates uneven results: the subject is bright, but shadows and background remain dark, often leading to unnatural photos.
With an “Always On Flash” (continuous flash during preview and capture) option, the subject and environment are consistently lit, giving more natural HDR results and helping users properly frame and compose in low light.
Competing brands (Xiaomi, Realme, Vivo, etc.) already provide this feature, and even third-party apps on Samsung devices achieve it.This proves that the hardware supports it.
User Trade-off Acknowledgement:
Yes, continuous flash will drain more battery and may heat the device faster — but as a user, I am consciously choosing this option for better low-light photos.
Samsung already allows similar “power-hungry” options like 120Hz refresh rate or Max Brightness, so providing this as an optional toggle fits the same philosophy.
Benefit:
Adding “Always On Flash” would improve low-light photography, allow accurate live previews, and give users more creative control without forcing them to rely on third-party apps.
