1. Deep In-App Camera Optimization (Instagram, Snapchat)

  • Problem: Despite the S25 Ultra having top-tier camera hardware, capturing photos/videos inside third-party apps results in viewfinder lag, lower dynamic range, washed-out compression, and choppy lens switching.
  • Request: Work directly with Meta and Snap to fully open and enforce the native One UI camera pipeline (Super HDR, Nightography, optical stabilization, and native sensor processing) inside third-party viewfinders. Allow seamless, stutter-free switching between the 0.6x, 1x, 3x, and 5x lenses without the feed freezing.
2. Parity for Social Media UI Micro-Interactions & Frame Pacing

  • Problem: On iOS, Instagram features fluid, physics-based micro-interactions that are completely absent on Galaxy flagships—such as the floating heart flying up to the author’s profile avatar when liking a Story, or the double-tap heart dynamically flying straight into the like counter on Reels. Furthermore, navigating feeds often suffers from micro-stutter when the display refresh rate drops.
  • Request: Partner with Meta to bring full UI/UX feature parity to One UI flagships. Ensure the app adopts smooth spring-physics curves and locks the UI to a consistent 120Hz refresh rate so touch responsiveness and visual feedback match the iPhone experience.
3. Expand Now Bar to Third-Party Live Progress (Live Activities)

  • Problem: The Now Bar is currently limited to basic system tasks and media playback. It does not track background uploads or real-time activities.
  • Request: Open the Now Bar APIs for third-party apps so users can see real-time progress on the Lock Screen and Always On Display. Crucial use cases include: Instagram Story/Reel upload progress bars, background downloads, ride tracking, and food delivery status.
