Samsung has also mentioned on its website that Samsung Pay Mini will be available on more Galaxy smartphones in the future. However, the company didn’t specify the names of compatible devices. The company started removing MST (Magnetic Secure Transmission) from its newer phones, which means that Samsung Pay won’t work on older PoS (Point of Sale) terminals that lack NFC functionality. The company explained that it removed MST from its newer phones because most new PoS systems feature NFC. Samsung had acquired LoopPay six years ago for $250 million for its MST technology.
