Dear Samsung Team,

I’m disappointed that Samsung Wallet isn’t available in all regions, despite the hardware supporting it. This limitation is frustrating and pushes users toward risky workarounds like installing different region firmware, which can lead to device issues and warranty loss.

Please consider expanding Samsung Wallet support globally to improve user experience and avoid these unnecessary risks.

Why isn’t Samsung Wallet available in all regions even though the devices support it?

The main reason is that Samsung Wallet’s availability depends on legal, financial, and business factors—not just hardware compatibility. Here are the key reasons:

---

1. Legal and Regulatory Restrictions

Some countries have strict regulations regarding digital wallets and electronic payments.

Samsung must obtain approvals and comply with local financial laws, which can delay or prevent the service launch.

---

2. Banking and Payment Partnerships

Samsung Wallet relies on partnerships with local banks and payment providers (e.g., Visa, Mastercard).

In some regions, these partnerships are not yet in place, making it difficult to roll out the service.

---

3. Market Demand and Economic Viability

Samsung may determine that launching the Wallet in certain markets isn't economically viable due to low demand.

The service requires ongoing maintenance, support, and infrastructure, which may not be justified in smaller markets.

---

4. User Safety and Security

By limiting access in unsupported regions, Samsung aims to avoid technical issues, fraud risks, and poor user experience caused by unofficial setups.

Using firmware from another region can lead to malfunctions and void your warranty.

If you'd like, I can also help you track updates on when Samsung Wallet might be available in your country, or suggest secure alternatives you can use meanwhile.

This isn’t helpful at all Google Wallet and Apple Pay still work even if they’re not fully supported in a specific country I can at least access the app, add my cards, and use them abroad. The issue with Samsung Wallet is that I can’t even open the app to add anything. That’s incredibly frustrating and limiting

"Samsung isn't behind — it's just not willing to risk users’ security and compliance just for the sake of convenience. There's a reason why other services get hacked or fail silently in unsupported regions. Samsung at least is being transparent."

I get your frustration, but there's a big difference between 'working' and 'being accessible.' Just because you can open Google Wallet or Apple Pay doesn’t mean they’re fully functional or secure in unsupported regions. Samsung chooses to block access entirely in unsupported countries to prevent misuse, fraud, or regulatory issues. It might be inconvenient, but it’s actually a more responsible and secure approach compared to letting people use a half-working service that might fail when they need it most."
