Click on the widget >> tap widget settings >> adjust the transparency as per your requirement. That's it

On S7 Edge the only option that I get on long pressing the widget is to 'remove from home screen', setting option has disappeared, which used to be available earlier

can we decrease the width of this widget? it is 4x1 and i want 3x1.

yes but in some of the widgets just long tap on the widget and that will show you bar around it with two or four dots. So simply drag in or our those dots to minimize or maximize the size of your widget.

The Samsung Health app widget no longer has a settings option.  I guess Samsung wants me to use Google Fit and throw away my Samsung S3 watch and get a Google watch??? Maybe I should also look to buy a Google phone if keeping their Android apps updated is too much for them.
