Samsung Care+When Samsung released One UI 6.1 they promised a better battery protection setting.
What they didn't tell us was, that doing this would fry the fast charger.
I had my Galaxy A13 plugged in and my battery was at 55%. Following the recommendation that it should be fully charged before attempting an update I thought let me keep it plugged in while downloading the update.
I downloaded the update and as soon as the update file of 1.2GB was downloaded the charging immediately ceased.
I didn't pay much attention to this as I rebooted the device to install the well-praised One UI 6.1.
After booting up it just didn't charge at all. I checked the battery settings and toggled between settings but nothing....
I changed cables (i always have a spare original Samsung) and still nothing
Then I whipped out the old charger from my Galaxy S5 and wallah all 3 cables worked as I tested like a madman and like some miracle the phone started charging again.
I was so relieved, but that soon died down as I started to discover what was going on.
I was no longer fast charging because the adapter was only 5V 2A and not 5V-9V 2A.
Also, I was angry because my fast charger was now dead.
I looked online only to discover you can't buy these travel adapters anymore and all newer phones don't come bundled with a charger.
(Excuse me? Do you buy a car with no alternator?)
The only ones available are the newer model chargers which cost twice as much.
Im really disgusted at Samsung has done.
