I don't know what direct share is. If you are talking about quick share, then here's how: Swipe down to settings panel, click on the quick share button. Now select "no one" as the option.
No Direct share isn't Quick Share. It's essentially the suggested contact list that appears whenever you use Share menu in any app. Earlier there was a way to disable this altogether. Now I can't seem to find it.
