As soon as I receive a phone call the upper half of my screen stops responding to any touch input
This happens at some other times also
Sometimes full screen does not respond to touch
My phone is 7 days old

brother it is under warranty so better to go service centre

check once weather the same problem exists in safe mode by restarting your phone and as soon as the samsung logo appears, press and hold your volume down key.
or
if interaction control is enabled then please disable it by going to setting>acceciblity>interaction control.

 before touch was not functioning when kept on flat surface, now touch screen fully stopped functioning unable to restart the phone.

Hope you issue got resolved and if the issue still persists,  kindly follow the given below steps to resolve "Touch" issue:

1. Remove memory card
>> Before removing the memory card, first, unmount it for safe removal.
>> On the Home screen, tap Apps > Settings > Device maintenance > Storage > More option > Storage settings > SD card > Unmount.

2. Reset the device: -Kindly create data backup of your device via SMART switch mobile application or http://www.samsung.com/in/support/smartswitch pc suite.

>> Tap on Settings> Tap on General Management> Tap on Reset.

 

If the issue still persist, kindly register your concern in Samsung Members app (Samsung Members app > Get help > Feedback > Error report/ask question).
Note: Please send device log files within 15 minutes of issue occurrence along with the exact issue details.
