Hi, Dali1234 kindly be advised that the reason for the Wi-Fi signal on calls is due to the Wi-Fi calling function being turned on, with this feature, you can make calls and send messages over a Wi-Fi connection when cell service isn't available. Now you’ll never be denied by a weak signal again.

Note: These settings may vary depending on your carrier.

1. Navigate to and open the Phone app.

2. Tap More options (the three vertical dots), and then tap Settings.

3. Tap Wi-Fi Calling, and then tap the switch to turn the feature on.

I've noticed that even when my phone is on flight mode with my WiFi on, I can make calls. Wow.

Yeah thats because essentially your phone has switched off the cellular electronics and disconnected from the nearest cell tower and is instead utilizing the wifi router in your home or work or free WiFi at a restaurant etc. It's a real handy feature if cellular reception is bad in an area but wifi strength is good.
