Unusual location tracking by samsung

Recently, noticed that the blue light filter of the phone is tracking my location. What the hell?

that is fine..but why do this thing need location access..question is this!

no need just like other apps too many worst permission needs like what need of flipkart (a shopping app) what would the app do by accessing your contact's or camera etc.

this is because to determine the time of your location.. blue light filter is for dark environment so if there is a location data available than system can make necessary changes accordingly.. this is not unnecessary permission or task

Check this out. If you schedule blue light filter based on Sunrise to Sunset it will need your location to figure out its timing.
