Tldr; don't buy expensive Samsungs in the upcoming sales if you wish to not suffer

Dear community members, like me I am sure you all would be long time Samsung enthusiasts (fanatics), and would be having a long relationship with the brand (not just with their mobile phones).

We love Samsung so much, that it's starting to hurt.

Back in 2022, we encountered this green lines on S20 series (S20 plus - first heartbreak), and after prolonged discussions, heated and not so great emails with the ceo desk team, they finally agreed to replace the displays free of cost. That somewhat restored the trust, and upheld the brand integrity.

Until recently where that issue has reappeared, and now affecting multiple devices across Series (S, M, A), and Samsung hasn't really acknowledged it fully. Half baked foc policy extensions, unclear instructions to the svc really has left the customers in pain.

Even after multiple (almost daily interactions with the ceo desk), they are now clearly denying any foc (or discounts) on the screen replacement for an issue they have caused.

The only intent of writing this from my green lined S20 plus is that today you'd be happily owning or planning to own a flagship or a costly Samsung device with top of the line Amoled displays. But once these would fail by a silly software update, and Samsung would be showing 0 (zero) accountability, rather would simply leave all with a permanent green lined displays only to face public humiliations. Mind me these displays are cost intensive.

With the big sales around, keep this in mind if you may, so that when it is you tomorrow, it would be an informed tomorrow for you.

Spread the word around, I am sure all of you are micro-influencers for your circles. Your suggestions might save someone from all this trouble in the future.

If you would like to know more, its just a search away in this app. Try searching for "green lines", and the truth shall be with you.

I just want to share my case with you.
My S21 ultra phone has been around for 3 years and 6 months. I never dropped, scratched and updated my phone but still a green line suddenly appears on my phone screen. I complained Samsung about this issue multiple times, but in the end Samsung wants a quality check on my phone which was a water test which you have talked about in your case. Despite my phone failing in the test, they still gave me a free replacement for my S21 ultra screen because of a green line issue. I just paid the GST and labour charges to Samsung, which is approximately Rs 3800.
In addition to this i also want to tell here that write an email to the CEO desk, which is available on the Samsung website in the support section, and include your entire case in that email. You will receive a call from their end. But you just have to note one point: you should not agree to their points that the screen should not be replaced free of cost as it is a manufacturing defect. In addition, you must write an email to the CEO's desk multiple times until they decline your claim.
I also wrote emails three times to the CEO's desk and also to the service head. I reached out to the Samsung support center and created a forum for my case in the Samsung member app, but no one accepted my claim. In the end, I sent a fourth email to Samsung's CEO's desk, and they acknowledged my claim. The whole process took me 25 days to replace my screen without any cost.

Happy for you. The ceo help desk team was kind enough in 2022, where they replaced my s20 plus's screen with the green line issue (when it first occurred). This time around, they are simply in denial. I send some requests almost every day (attached for ref).

Yes you are right but you just have to be stuck on that part that it is a manufacturing defect not more than this. They will surely listen you.
I also changed my S7 edge screen free of cost in 2018 without any problem with the help of ceo desk but for my S21 ultra it took my lot of efforts to make my claim acceptable.

Umm... lemme just make it clear here that this Green line problem is not limited to Samsung phones, it is also happening with Vivo, OPPO, Moto phones, etc. (even Apple in that matter)

So we can't really blame only Samsung here. It is a problem with AMOLED displays in general. Also, to protect your phone from future articles, check this article (the 5th point listed there is kinda valid if done properly) - https://r2.community.samsung.com/t5/Galaxy-S/Green-lines-issue-Why-don-t-you-do-this/td-p/16944835?s...
