If may possible then do one thing. Just put the sim tray like popup camera type.so that if we lost the phone then noone can remove the simcard and in same time we can locate that phone. As these days when someone lossing the phone then other party is doing one thing that firstly removing the sim so that we can't locate that phone. as I lost my samsung galaxy s9+ on 11th December and not able to locate till yet.

Login on above link with your samsung account and try to find your device and reset the data

You are not getting the point . If there is no network in your phone then how can you find it.

U can turn on offline finding
Or u can go to police and give them IMEI no and find your phone

It's not matter your sim card is locked or unlock ... If somebody will remove your sim card from your phone then how you will locate your phone.
So I'm saying about to add one thing in phone that without opening screen lock no one can remove sim card from phone

You should look at the teardown videos of oneplus 7 pro. The pop up system takes a lot of space , because of the motor system. This isn't pratical for something as small as a sim card . And on top of that you won't even find pop up system as they hindered the water resistance of the device.
