Samsung has released Android 10 with OneUI 2.0 to many of its devices. Many of the devices are expected to get the new Android update soon. So let's take time to study one of it's new features, which is full screen navigation bar which interacts though gestures. I've prepared a guide for you. You can bookmark this to look for this article when android 10 arrives at your device.

Full screen navigation already exists on OneUI 1.0. How ever, it will work pretty differently in OneUI 2.0.

How to enable full screen navigation?

Method 1:

  1. Open the Settings app on your device.
  2. Tap on Display.
  3. Now scroll down till you find Navigation bar and select it.
  4. Simply tap on Full-screen gestures to enable the feature.

Method 2:

  1. Pull down the notification shade.
  2. Search for the Navigation bar toggle.
  3. Toggle off the Navigation bar toggle to enable Full-screen gestures.

Here are some gestures that might help you in using full screen navigation bar on your Android 10 powered device:

  • Home: Just swipe up from the bottom of the screen and you will be taken to your Home screen. This works from any point in Android 10.
  • Back: To go back to your previous page, or to close an app or folder, just swipe either on the left or the right edge of your screen.
  • Switching apps: If you want to switch from one app to a previously used app, swipe up and hold, but then slide your finger either left or right. This should allow you to switch quickly between any open apps.
  • Multitasking page: You can check out the multitasking page in Android 10, which shows you all of your recently accessed apps, by swiping up, but then pressing down on the screen for a moment.
  • Google Assistant: With no more Home button, accessing Google Assistant is handed with Android 10 gesture controls by swiping down to either the left bottom corner or the right bottom corner of your screen.
