If you did a system update that upgrades ur OS ,example Android 10 to 11, it is recommended to do a factory reset to help the phone settle faster.
If it was just a security update and there are specific apps crashing, try to data wipe only those apps and things should come back to normal. If there are many apps with the issue, a cache partition wipe might help. If you don't know to do it just ask I'll help. But Google usually has the answers too.
