Galaxy Z Fold
Dear Samsung Support Team,
I love using my Galaxy Z Fold 7, but there is one design limitation that makes the phone unnecessarily frustrating: the Quick Settings panel only displays icons without any text labels.
From a user’s perspective, this makes many of the Quick Settings features essentially invisible and unusable. If I don’t immediately recognize an icon, I simply avoid touching it — and I know I’m not alone. The result is that powerful features Samsung has built in go unused, not because they lack value, but because users don’t know what they are.
For example:
Quick Share is an amazing feature, but its symbol is abstract enough that many users don’t realize what it does until they dig deeper. Without a label, it just sits there unused.
Similarly, toggles like Nearby Share or NFC are not obvious from the icon alone. These are features that should be helping users daily, but instead, they get ignored.
This feels like wasted potential. The Quick Settings panel should be a tool that empowers users to discover and use their phone’s capabilities.
Right now, it has become a row of mystery icons for the average user.
The solution is simple: please allow text labels to be shown as an optional or default setting. Minimalists can still keep icons only, but the rest of us could turn on labels and actually take advantage of the features we’re paying for.
This small change would dramatically improve usability, user satisfaction, and feature adoption — without taking anything away from those who prefer the current design.
I hope this request can be shared with your design and development teams. It would make a big difference in daily use.
Thank you for listening and for continuing to push innovation forward.
Sincerely,
Chris Martin
