why whats app videos saving

i want to see pics n videos on whats app but they should not be saved in photo gallery until i want. i was using iphone before .

i think it is not the case of samsung android
it usually saves the media once it is viewed

i m using samsung 8+... i want to view every thing on whats app but dont want to save in photo gallery until i want to. In my old iphone i was watching every thing on whats app but it was not adding in my photo gallery itself . But in samsung 8+ photos n videos of whatsapp are firstly blurred , when u click i can watch BUT they are automatically saving in my whatsapp gallery . which I dont want. please tell what should i do thanks
