wifi calling,as the name suggests, allows you to call someone through your wifi. but you should make sure that your wifi operator supports it. As far as i know,all of the wifi operator I know don't support this yet(idk whats the reason).
but i encouraged you to talk with your wifi operator regarding wifi calling .

wifi calling is same as what we have now a days called as VoLTE but the difference is you must be with a carrier who provides it . in wifi calling you need a supported wifi provider who allows calling feature while using their wifi . You can read about VoWIFI ( wifi calling)

jio started this feature as test ( not available commercially for everyone) , BSNL also started VoWIFI as test phase , But Jio will launch this first in india soon

Only three carrier in india has the wifi calling infrastructure ready JIO , BSNL and AIRTEL
but all are in test phase now

VoWIFI will not be available in every place as it is suppose to be there where traditional cellular coverage is weak or not available

benifit of VoWIFI is less power consumption, less traditional network setup , no worries about cellular network coverage
