Galaxy SIntroduction of Privacy Display on Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra
• On the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra running One UI 8.5, what was previously known as "Screen Curtain" (a Good Lock feature) has been significantly evolved into a built-in hardware and software feature called Privacy Display.
• While the traditional "Screen Curtain" (blanking the screen entirely) is still accessible through Good Lock, the S26 Ultra’s new Privacy Display is the flagship way to hide your screen content from bystanders.
How to Enable Privacy Display
• The S26 Ultra uses a unique pixel structure to narrow viewing angles, making the screen appear dark to anyone not looking at it head-on.
• Quick Panel: Swipe down from the top right to open your Quick Settings.
• Look for the Privacy display toggle.
• Settings Menu: Go to Settings > Display > Privacy display.
• Advanced Mode: Within the Privacy Display settings, you can enable Maximum privacy protection, which makes the screen look almost powered off from side angles.
Introduction to Screen Curtain
• If you want the screen to go completely black while apps (like YouTube or a game) continue to run in the background, you still use the Good Lock method.
Using Screen Curtain Via Good Lock
• Open the Good Lock app.
• Download/Open the Display Assistant (or Battery Guardian) module.
• Select Screen Curtain and tap "Add to Quick Settings."
• You can now trigger it from your Quick Panel.
Using Screen Curtain Via Accessibility
• Go to Settings > Accessibility > TalkBack.
• If TalkBack is on, you can use a three-finger triple-tap to toggle the screen curtain on/off.
Automatic Activation with One UI 8.5
• One UI 8.5 allows you to automate these privacy features.
• In the Privacy display settings, you can set it to turn on automatically when:
• You open specific apps (like banking or gallery).
• You are typing a PIN or Password.
• A notification pop-up appears.
