**Device:** Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra **One UI Version:** 8.5 (latest update) **WhatsApp Version:** 2.26.10.71 **Problem Description:** After updating to One UI 8.5, incoming WhatsApp calls automatically show "Call is on hold" and I am unable to answer them properly. When someone calls me on WhatsApp, the call goes on hold by itself before I can answer. The only partial workaround is when I am the one calling — I can press "Resume" to connect, but when someone calls me there is no workaround at all. This happens with all contacts, on both voice and video calls, and on both WiFi and mobile data. **What I Tried:** 1. Turned off Call Waiting in Phone app → Supplementary Services 2. Turned off Call & Text on Other Devices 3. Reset Network Settings 4. Cleared WhatsApp cache and data 5. Set WhatsApp Battery to **Unrestricted** 6. Enabled Background Data Usage and Data Saver exception for WhatsApp 7. Checked all WhatsApp permissions — all are **Allowed** 8. Checked WhatsApp notifications — all are **Enabled** 9. Reinstalled WhatsApp 10. Turned off Auto Hold and Call Switching options **All settings are correctly configured. The problem started after the One UI 8.5 update and is clearly a system-level bug affecting incoming WhatsApp VoIP calls.** Please investigate and provide a fix urgently. Thank you. ---

Thank you for sharing the detailed information regarding the issue you are experiencing with WhatsApp calls on your Galaxy S26 Ultra after the One UI 8.5 update.

In some cases, after a major software update, certain third-party applications may experience temporary compatibility issues until the application developer releases an optimized update. This may affect specific functions such as VoIP calls in applications like WhatsApp.

As initial troubleshooting steps, we recommend the following:

  1. Ensure that the WhatsApp application is updated to the latest available version through the Google Play Store.
  2. Restart the device after confirming the update.
  3. Navigate to Settings > Apps > WhatsApp > Storage, then clear cache and restart the device.
  4. Ensure that the device software is fully updated by navigating to Settings > Software update > Download and install.
  5. Test the device while connected to a different network (Wi-Fi or mobile data) to confirm if the behavior changes.
  6. If the issue continues after performing the above steps, we recommend waiting for further updates to the WhatsApp application, as application developers regularly release updates to improve compatibility with the latest system software.

Thank you for sharing the detailed information, and we apologize for the inconvenience.

Based on your description, this behavior may be related to compatibility between the latest One UI update and the WhatsApp application, especially since all troubleshooting steps have already been completed.

Kindly ensure:

  1. WhatsApp is updated to the latest version
  2. Device software is fully up to date
  3. Restart the device after updates
  4. As the issue is affecting multiple users and occurs with incoming VoIP calls, it is likely to be resolved through upcoming updates from the application or system side.
  5. We recommend reporting the issue عبر تطبيق Samsung Members (Get Help > Send Feedback) to help the concerned team investigate further.
