Hi Folks,
I’m using a Samsung phone with one eSIM and multiple physical SIM slots.
When I turn ON eSIM, SIM 3 automatically turns OFF, and vice versa (see screenshots). The phone shows a message saying only one can stay active.
From observation, it looks like eSIM and SIM 3 share the same radio hardware, so only one can be active at a time.
My aim of using eSIM:
Use eSIM (Etisalat) as primary for daily data/calls
Switch between physical SIMs as required (Du <> BSNL)

Here
SIM 2 + SIM 3
SIM 2 + eSIM 1
SIM 3 + eSIM 1

Questions to Samsung experts / enthusiasts:
Is this strictly a hardware (radio) limitation, or can it be improved via One UI / firmware?
Has anyone found a workaround or supported configuration to keep eSIM + SIM 3 active together?
Are there Samsung models where this mapping is different?
Looking forward to learning from others’ experience.
Thanks!

Its Radio limitation.. Sim3 n eSim can't stay active together

Since you cannot have SIM 3 and the eSIM active simultaneously due to hardware wiring, you need to reorganize which SIM lives in which slot to achieve your goal of switching between Du and BSNL easily.

Set your "Permanent" Physical SIM to Slot 2: Whichever physical SIM you use most (let's say Du), keep it in the physical slot that does not conflict with the eSIM. Usually, this is labeled "SIM 1" or "SIM 2" in the tray, depending on the model.

The "Sacrificial" Slot: Put your occasional SIM (BSNL) in the slot that conflicts with the eSIM (SIM 3).

Thank Bro.
It will solve the problem.

Here is a guide for you friends.

Solution / What worked for me:
First of all this issue is hardware-related, not a One UI bug. On many Samsung phones, SIM 3 and eSIM share the same radio, so they cannot stay active together.

What solved it for me:
Etisalat → Physical SIM (SIM 1 or SIM 2)
du → eSIM
BSNL → Physical SIM (SIM 3)

With this setup:
Etisalat + BSNL work together
Etisalat + du (eSIM) work together
Only BSNL + du (eSIM) can’t be ON together (expected)
If Etisalat is your primary line, keep it as physical SIM.
Avoid putting your main number on eSIM if you also need SIM 3 active.
This avoids constant SIM switching and tray changes.
Hope this helps 👍

Thank you for sharing your experience and providing such detailed information. We understand your goal of using both eSIM and SIM 3 simultaneously.

Based on your description, it seems that the issue may be related to the radio hardware in your device, as some devices use shared hardware resources for both eSIM and physical SIM slots, which may prevent both from being active at the same time. This could be a hardware limitation of your specific model.

At the moment, there is no known workaround via One UI or firmware to enable both eSIM and SIM 3 to be active together. However, we recommend ensuring your device is running the latest software version by checking for updates under Settings > Software update > Download and install, as software updates may improve dual SIM functionality.

Additionally, you can configure which SIM is the primary for calls and data by going to Settings > Connections > Mobile Networks.

If the issue persists or you need further assistance, we recommend visiting an authorized Samsung Service Center. You can find the nearest service center using the following link:

We hope this helps clarify the situation. Thank you for choosing Samsung.
