battery life abyssmal after august update on s8 plus

i've been noticing battery depletion rate increasing after the august security patch update. Had this been addressed by any samsung member?

I have been using the phone in a similar manner even before the august update. The drain wasn't so harsh. after the update, battery discharges like its trying to run a 100m race
