Galaxy SThe reason is simple: Samsung has always offered only two major upgrades for its flagship devices. The company also provides the same number of major upgrades to mid-range and budget devices as well, and while it’s unfortunate that Samsung doesn’t make a distinction between flagship phones and lower-end devices, it is what it is. The Galaxy S8, S8+, and Galaxy Note 8 were launched with Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box and were subsequently updated to Android Oreo and Android Pie, so they have already received the updates they were eligible for.
