Privacy Display Feature on S26 Ultra

Introduction to Privacy Display

• Unlike a software filter that just dims the screen, the S26 Ultra uses innovative pixel-level technology.

• It controls how light is dispersed, allowing you to see the screen clearly head-on while making it appear dark or "washed out" to anyone looking from the side.

Key Modes of Privacy Display

• Standard Privacy: Limits the viewing angle so side-peepers see a shadowed screen.

• Maximum Privacy Protection: A "heavy-duty" mode that makes the screen look almost like it’s turned off from any angle other than straight-on.

• Partial Screen Privacy: The most impressive part—it can obscure only your notification pop-ups while keeping the rest of the screen normal.

How to Use Privacy Display

• Samsung has made it incredibly easy to toggle this on and off so you don't have to live with a dim screen all day.

• The Quick Toggle

• Swipe down from the top right of your screen to open the Quick Panel.

• Tap the Privacy Display icon (it looks like a shield over a screen).

Deep Settings Configuration

• Long-press the icon to jump into the deep settings and choose between "Standard" or "Maximum."

Auto-Activation Settings

• You don’t have to remember to turn it on every time.

• Go to Settings > Display > Privacy Display and set "Conditions for Turning On":

• App-Specific: Set it to activate automatically when you open Banking apps, WhatsApp, or Notes.

• Sensitive Entry: Automatically shields the screen whenever you are typing a PIN, Pattern, or Password.

• Notifications Only: Keeps the shield active only for incoming notification previews.

Why It’s a Daily Life Essential

• The S26 Ultra’s privacy mode isn't just for "secret agents"; it’s for anyone living a modern, public life.

Usage Scenarios

• Commuting: Read private emails or texts on the bus or train without the person next to you reading along.

• Coffee Shops: Log into your bank account or pay bills on public Wi-Fi without worrying about "visual hacking."

• The Office

Work Notification Privacy

• Keep those "sensitive" work notifications from being read by colleagues during a meeting.

Personal Photo Privacy

• Use Private Album (new in the S26 Gallery) to hide specific photos without needing a separate vault.

Privacy Display Pro Tip

• The Privacy Display works best in bright environments (outdoors or well-lit rooms).

• In very dark rooms, the "Maximum" mode can make colors look a bit "foggy" or greyed out for you, too.

• I recommend using the App-Specific setting so it only kicks in when you actually need it!
