Why Shall I Pay to Fix a Problem that Originated from Samsung's own Manufacturing Fault?

I’m extremely disappointed with the quality and service I received from Samsung.
I purchased a Samsung TV in November 2024 from Sharaf DG Dubai for almost USD 2,000. It was delivered in November 2024.
In December 2025, just about 12 months & 25 days after delivery, the TV suddenly developed a vertical line in the middle of the screen — with no damage, no impact, and no misuse. This clearly looks like a manufacturing defect.
I reported the issue on 23 December 2025 to both Sharaf DG and Samsung.

After a two‑month delay, Samsung finally contacted me in February — only to tell me the repair would cost (around AED 2,450) because its just 25 days after the warranty expired,.
Half the price of the TV… for a defect that appeared in just one year.

To make things worse, Samsung then offered me a trade‑in value of AED 30 for the defective TV.
Yes, USD 8 for a product I paid USD 2,000 for, which failed just after the first year.

This is unacceptable for a brand like Samsung.
We buy Samsung for reliability — not for a premium TV to fail within 12 months and then be told to pay half its price to repair it.
I feel completely let down and misled by this experience.
I request Samsung to take responsibility for what appears to be a manufacturing defect and provide a proper solution — either a full repair or a replacement.

I hope you take this matter seriously.

Thank you for sharing your concern regarding your Samsung TV purchased in November 2024.

We sincerely regret the inconvenience caused by the vertical line issue. Kindly note that the standard manufacturer warranty is valid for 12 months from the date of purchase/delivery. As the issue was reported after the warranty period had officially expired, the repair is handled as out-of-warranty and subject to quotation following technical inspection.

We understand your concern regarding the timing of the issue. For further review of your case, we recommend contacting us through the official channel below so it can be properly escalated and evaluated:

We appreciate your feedback and understanding.
