Hello,

I've noticed a few things have been occurring since the last update on my S24 Ultra.

To list a few:
1) Sudden loss of mic/audio in calls when using Bluetooth devices. Sometimes I'd be able to hear the other person on a call, but they would not be able to hear me. It also sometimes happens when I'm not using Bluetooth devices and then I have to use the loudspeaker to hear the caller.

2) There's been an increase lag/delay when using my phone as per normal. At most it would freeze for a few seconds before responding.

3) Sometimes the phone would restart itself for absolutely no reason that makes sense to me. I've tried some troubleshooting methofs that I read about online, but the issue still persists every now and then. This week it has restarted itself 3 times so far.

Prior to the recent update, I didn't experience these issues and it's beginning to worry me. Is there a way to address the aforementioned? Any assistance would be sincerely appreciated, thank you.

Hi RhapsodyV
It sounds like your Samsung S24 Ultra is experiencing multiple post-update issues, which can sometimes happen with major OS or One UI updates. Let’s break down your issues and go step by step.

---

1️⃣ Bluetooth / Mic Issues During Calls

This can happen due to software glitches with the update affecting audio routing or Bluetooth drivers.

Steps to try:

1. Clear Bluetooth cache:

Go to Settings → Apps → Show system apps → Bluetooth → Storage → Clear Cache.

2. Re-pair your devices:

Delete paired Bluetooth devices and reconnect them.

3. Safe Mode test:

Power off the phone, then power it on while holding the Volume Down button.

Test if the issue persists in Safe Mode (disables third-party apps). If it doesn’t happen here, a third-party app is likely conflicting.

4. Reset network settings:

Settings → General management → Reset → Reset network settings.

This resets Wi-Fi, mobile, and Bluetooth settings without affecting your data.

5. Check for firmware updates for your Bluetooth devices (if applicable).

---

2️⃣ Lag / Delays

Lag after an update is common, especially if the update reindexes apps and system services. It usually settles after a day or two.

Steps to improve performance:

1. Clear system cache partition:

Power off → Hold Volume Up + Power + Bixby (or just Volume Up + Power for newer models) until recovery menu appears → Select Wipe Cache Partition → Reboot.

2. Check for app updates:

Outdated apps may cause conflicts post-update.

3. Disable or reduce animations:

Settings → Accessibility → Visibility enhancements → Reduce animations.

Settings → About phone → Tap “Build number” 7 times → Developer options → Window/Transition/Animator scale = 0.5x or off.

4. Storage check:

Ensure your internal storage isn’t full. Lag can occur when storage is near capacity.

---

3️⃣ Random Restarts

Random restarts can be caused by software bugs, problematic apps, or even battery issues.

Steps to address:

1. Safe Mode check (as above):

If restarts stop in Safe Mode → a third-party app is likely the cause.

2. Check battery and system logs:

Settings → Battery and device care → Battery → Battery usage by app to see if any app spikes unusually.

3. Update all apps & Samsung firmware (Settings → Software update → Download & install).

4. Factory reset (last resort):

If all else fails, backup your data and do a full reset (Settings → General management → Reset → Factory data reset).

Sometimes updates leave leftover conflicts that only a clean install can fix.

---

⚠️ Additional Notes

If the update itself is buggy, Samsung sometimes releases a patch update within a few weeks. Keep an eye on Software update → Download & install.

Avoid using heavy apps during suspected post-update optimization.

Random restarts combined with audio issues could indicate a software corruption during the update. A factory reset often resolves these if other methods fail.

If you want, I can give you a step-by-step “priority sequence” to fix all three issues in the most efficient order without losing too much time or data. This often helps resolve post-update bugs faster.

Perfect, RhapsodyV. Here's a priority sequence to tackle your S24 Ultra issues efficiently, starting from the least invasive steps and progressing to the more drastic ones if needed:

---

Step 1: Temporary Fixes & Checks (No Data Loss)

A) Safe Mode Test

Power off your phone.

Power it on while holding Volume Down until you see “Safe Mode” in the corner.

Test if mic/Bluetooth issues, lag, or random restarts happen in Safe Mode.

If problems disappear → a third-party app is causing the issue.

Uninstall recently installed or suspicious apps one by one.

B) Clear Bluetooth Cache & Reconnect Devices

1. Settings → Apps → Show system apps → Bluetooth → Storage → Clear Cache

2. Delete paired devices and reconnect.

3. Test mic/audio on calls again.

C) Clear Network Settings

Settings → General Management → Reset → Reset Network Settings

Reconnect Wi-Fi and Bluetooth devices.

---

Step 2: Optimize System Performance

A) Wipe Cache Partition

1. Turn off phone.

2. Hold Volume Up + Power (or Volume Up + Power + Bixby) until Recovery menu appears.

3. Use volume buttons to select Wipe Cache Partition → Yes → Reboot.

This removes leftover update files and can reduce lag.

B) Reduce Animations & Check Storage

1. Settings → Accessibility → Reduce animations → On

2. Enable Developer options:

Tap Build number 7 times → Settings → Developer options → set Window/Transition/Animator scale = 0.5x

3. Ensure at least 10–15% free internal storage for smooth performance.

---

Step 3: Check for Updates & Firmware Conflicts

Settings → Software update → Download & install

Update all apps via Play Store.

Sometimes post-update bugs are fixed in patch updates.

---

Step 4: If Issues Persist – Factory Reset (Data Backup Required)

Backup all photos, messages, apps, and settings via Samsung Cloud / Smart Switch / Google Backup.

Settings → General Management → Reset → Factory data reset

After reset, test the phone before reinstalling apps to see if problems are resolved.

If stable, reinstall apps one by one to avoid reintroducing the culprit.

---

Extra Notes

Random restarts + Bluetooth/mic issues strongly suggest software conflicts from the update, so steps 1–3 often fix it.

Factory reset is last resort, but usually resolves lingering post-update glitches.
