Galaxy SI'm sorry to hear about your experience. Allow me to shed some light on the matter.
Samsung usually recalls unsold devices from authorized retailers within six months if they remain unsold. These devices are typically returned to the factory for quality checks and reallocation, ensuring stores carry fresh stock. However, in some cases, certain retailers might bypass this recall process to avoid expenses like taxes or import duties when receiving new stock.
Since the Galaxy S22 Ultra is a 2022 model, it’s possible the device you purchased was part of leftover stock that wasn’t sent back for a refresh. While the device might still be genuine, there could be complications with warranty activation, especially if the phone was resealed or had its warranty validity period affected by the delay.
Regarding your battery drain issue, this is a known concern with the Galaxy S22 Ultra. Its processor is extremely powerful, but the cooling system struggles to manage heat effectively, leading to significant battery drain during usage. Samsung addressed this issue in the Galaxy S23 Ultra by improving battery optimization and thermal efficiency.
As an S22 Ultra owner myself, I can confirm that while the battery life isn’t the best, the overall performance, camera, and display make it a fantastic device. For your specific battery concern, you could try the following:
1. Ensure all apps and the system software are updated to the latest version.
2. Use battery optimization settings and avoid using the phone extensively while charging.
3. Disable background apps and services that you don’t frequently use.
If warranty concerns persist, I recommend reaching out to Samsung Support directly and providing them with your purchase details. They may assist you further, especially if the device is genuine but has warranty activation issues.
I hope this helps clarify your situation. Let me know if you need any additional guidance!
Best regards.

Galaxy SI am sorry to hear about your experience. I think you got scammed. I think the phone must be an old stock which the shop had. As RISKYTAP mentioned, Samsung recalls unsold devices and is returned to the factory to quality check and other things. But the shop must have not been given the device to them once the period is over because of the taxes.
But don't worry because you got your device brand new and the device is working properly. The battery draining issue is also a common issue faced in the S22 Ultra, so don't really worry about it.
If my comment helped you in any way. Please consider hitting the 3 dot menu of my comment and accept it as a solution. It would be helpful for me a lot.
Thank you 😊
