Google usually announces and releases its new Android versions. So after Google's release, Samsung generally takes a few months to adapt the new Android version into its One UI skin and conduct testing. Flagship devices, such as the latest Galaxy S series (likely the Galaxy S25 or S26 by now), are usually the first to receive these updates.

You're absolutely right...So, yes, if you have a brand new Galaxy Z Fold 7 or Z Flip 7, it will be on Android 16 with One UI 8. For older Samsung devices, the One UI 8 update (based on Android 16) will be rolled out over the coming months.

○ One UI 8 takes AI much further with "Multimodal Capabilities" that understand context, "Personalized, Proactive Suggestions," the "Now Bar & Now Brief Enhancements" with third-party app support, and significant upgrades to existing AI tools like "Audio Eraser" and "Browse Assist." The deeper integration with "Gemini Live" is also a new level.
