Thank you for contacting us and sharing your concern regarding the battery draining issue.

  1. Wait for Optimization
The most common "fix" is patience. Your phone is working hard in the background to adapt to the new operating system. This process usually stabilizes within 2 to 3 days, but can sometimes take up to a week. The issue should resolve itself during this period.

  2. Basic Troubleshooting Steps
If the issue continues after several days, try these common fixes:

  • Restart Your Phone: A simple restart can clear minor software glitches caused by the update.

  • Check Battery Usage Stats: Identify which apps are consuming the most power. Go to Settings > Battery and device care > Battery > View details (or Battery Usage). Look for any apps with unusually high consumption, especially under "Background usage". Put misbehaving apps into "Deep sleep" in the Background usage limits settings.

  • Update All Apps: Outdated apps might be incompatible with the new OS, causing them to use more power. Update all apps via the Google Play Store and the Galaxy Store.

  1. Advanced Troubleshooting Steps
If basic steps don't help, proceed to these more effective solutions:

  • Wipe the Cache Partition: This process clears temporary system files that might have become corrupted during the update. It is safe and does not delete personal data. Turn off your phone. Connect your phone to a computer using a USB cable. Press and hold the Volume Up and Power buttons simultaneously until the Samsung logo appears. In the Recovery Mode menu, use the volume keys to navigate to "Wipe cache partition" and the power key to select it. Select "Yes", then "Reboot system now".

  • Run Galaxy App Booster: Samsung provides a tool within Good Guardians that optimizes all apps for the new OS version. Download Good Guardians from the Galaxy Store. Open the app and select Galaxy App Booster. Run the optimization process for all your apps.

  • Adjust Performance Profile: Prioritize battery life over processing speed. Go to Settings > Battery and device care > Performance profile. Select Light.

  1. Last Resort: Factory Reset
If all else fails, a factory reset performs a clean installation of the new software and is almost guaranteed to fix post-update battery issues. Be sure to back up all your data first. Go to Settings > General management > Reset > Factory data reset.
