This usually happen to enterprise edition devices

With android 10 official release for samaung some enterprise device owners posting that their update option is disabled in their devices

So do not try to update by removing your knox workplace profile

Many members suggesting to remove work profile

Remember without permission of your company if you remove that account than

You have to pay the device price as well as you will loose all contracts with samsung via your company means your device might loose updates for forever as well as it will violate warranty policy of enterprise devices  such as extended 5 years software update / firmware update support

So consult your company who provided you that enterprise edition device

your device does not accept updates via regular FOTA mechanism cause it has a different update upstream called EFOTA (

So corporate customers of samsung galaxy do not accept any members advice on your device  just seek support from your company . Request your IT admin branch they can degrade or update your OS at anytime .

yes . at any time . enterpise devices has no interruption in degradation or upgradation . Corporate users can continue using device even it is updating or degrading their devices . its speacialized OS to meet their company needs and company apps requirement if the company apps demand degradation than they will do it immediatly

EFOTA has OS version control managment

Do you know ANDROID VERSION CONTROL MANAGMENT FOR ENTERPRISE and How it work . if you know that you will never ask this question

it is designed for the purpose of that . any OS contributor and developer knows it

EFOTA is completly under control of company not by samsung. they can decide which os to be installed updated or degraded . have a test account in samsung enterprise console and test it with your own device .

https://www.samsungknox.com/en/solutions/it-solutions/knox-manage#product-get-started

you will see all the option to upgrade and degrade OS in the console ..

it has 3 mechanism of EFOTA . one controlled , one forced and one timed . to degrade we do use . forced option where device is fully controlled by console to degrade or upgrade the OS. Timed one is for update only

in FOTA generally manufacturee dont downgrade the OS . but there are event when manufacture do downgrade OS using FOTA Too . like Mi did that few months back

but EFOTA is comply different with ability of Version Control system to down or up grade OS

its a general term and found in any OS developement .. these are basic part of any OS .. in simple word standards
