snap 8 gen1 is notorius for overheating. Tons of articles in the internet.

That being said, Smart switch also causes some issues to your new phone.
Most of the people recommends starting fresh and manually installing apps and settings.

another thing to consider is you just finished setting up your phone let the system settle down and learn your usage.

That's what I know and SD G1 is much better than previous versions especially when it comes to the cooling system, nevertheless, will format the device and start fresh again

It's a chipset issue not a battery, like jshsvck mentioned, samsung already throttled down the chipset on the tablets because of the excess heat, and also reports about the 'game mode' in the devices acting as a throttling tool not to let the device overheat. We finally got the SD chipset, but it's the worst one made by SD, not Samsung's fault though. My device became better after the feb update which I received around 1st of march.

Strange that the latest version is not that good comparing with previous versions

You should see on other phones, disaster, Samsung so far are doing a good job, but in the tablets, because they're thin, they had to underclock it, it's performing less that it should because of thermals.
