I don't know what the DXOMARK ranking methodology involves, but I do know that innovation is largely driven by continuous investment and deep research. Any OEM that does this will have outstanding results, in any field, eventually.
Having said that, I wonder what the degrees of separation between rank 1 and 28 mean in real life. That is, are differences noticeable for everyday users, and are they strong enough to heavily influence purchase decisions?
