The device overheats with camera, whatsapp video call and games. The phone simply heats when starts using. Very pathetic quality of this new and high-end device. The battery also drains fast after last update. This is serious problem when considering a flagship device. The device is having heating issue if using normally outdoors.Issues are not even solved with software update as per the service center.

Hi, you can try wiping your cache partition. It is recommended after updates and solves a number of unknown issues.
Simply connect your device to the computer via data cable (or just insert a c-ported headset) > Switch off your device >Press and hold, power button + volume-up button for 4-5 seconds till the phone turn on and boot into the recovery mode.
Use volume keys to navigate to 'wipe cache partition.' Use power key to select and confirm. Then reboot your device. Normally, this will not effect any personal data or settings.

If still it exists you can check it in safe mode.
(Press and hold the power off button. ( 🔴 Red button on the screen). To exit the safe mode, just restart the device).

You can check with camera or other inbuilt apps. If it seems to be ok and "cool" then the problems must be with any of your installed apps. Try clearing the cache and data of the apps. Make sure they are upto date also. Uninstall those which are unnecessary or rarely used. And for the rest, add them to deep sleeping apps list. (Settings > Battery and device care> Battery > Background usage limits > Deep sleeping apps. )
Hope that helps. Thank you.

Hi,

Please bring the device to a Samsung Service Center to have it checked by a technician.

Also you can try the following steps:

>Settings

> Battery and device care

> Battery

> Background usage limits

> Deep sleeping apps

After running on safe mode and as @mohammedsijah suggested I tried again clearing cache through recovery. Thinks phone runs little better. But my usage pattern was also different from before. But I came across like at several percentiles the battery drains faster. Not sure the battery health is the cause of the problem. However I tried out checking it with an app called accubattery and it shows the health 93%. Got updated yesterday with July security patch. Looking forward for the better results.

Thanks for the feedback. I am happy to see it helped you. You can also try a battery calibration. Please see this post.
